My little place on the internet...
This is my blog with personal and technical articles. My Blog for me is primarily a playground to do somethings with the server I have running via my DSL connection. And in my humble opinion it looks better every time I tinker with it.

Blogrush

BlogRushI’ve just signed up for the new service of BlogRush I’m just curious where this service is going I’m very curious if this will give me some additional traffic. Apparently one of the arts of getting lots of traffic too your site is to promote your referral link to the maximum. I already found out that most of the reviews have listed there referral every 5 sentences. I promise I’ll post mine only once, so here you go if you also want to install BlogRush on your Blog and want to use me a referral use click here: BlogRush (referral) if you want to install without referral click here: BlogRush

If you like some additional information about BlogRush click on one of the links and view the video it explains it much better then I can.

Update : 25/09/2007 11:51 Current Credit Balance: -12 and Clicks are 0. Apparently none of the readers ever used the widget. So Blogrush is out.

Mephisto

Mephisto logoLike you already could read in the about box. This site of mine is for a big part a play server for me. Thats why I switched today from blog software. I’m still on rails but no with Mephisto. I’m very pleased with all the functionality that Mephisto has to offer on top of what I was used to with Typo. Specialy the liquid templates to create fairly easy an own template for you blog. Unfortunatly there is still one big drawback with Mephisto and that is XML-RPC support. I’m still unable to get it working. In my opinion this should go high on the list of things to do for Mephisto just followed by the Atom post API.

UPDATE: I’ve just updated a plugin and if this text arrives at the site XML-RPC support is working.

Typo Blog faster

I was just taking a look at the Google Webmaster Tools page and was very surprised that apparently my Typo blog is faster then my serendipity.
Google Graph
As you can see the time spent downloading a page (in milliseconds) is reduced enormous since is change blogging software. This to me an unexpected pro for Typo.

New weblog engine

Since I’m having this blog I did all my publishing in serendipity, s9y for short. But I wasn’t that pleased with the possibilities of the software. No offence though to the developers of the software I think It is a very well written PHP weblog server. But like I said it just didn’t for fill my needs. So the last few weeks I’ve been looking around for a ‘better’ alternative That’s why I’ve now configured Typo that is running on top of the Ruby on Rails framework. And to be honest, I’m quit pleased at the moment about the result so far. But I still have some additional configuring to do. I’ve currently lost the Google sitemap.xml functionality and also some tweaking towards some more speed is in order but so far so good.
