My little place on the internet...
This is my blog with personal and technical articles. My Blog for me is primarily a playground to do somethings with the server I have running via my DSL connection. And in my humble opinion it looks better every time I tinker with it.

Nsyght - Kick the algorithm to the curb

Nsyght LogoA month ago the Nsyght website went live with a alpha preview of there site. I was already aware of the new social search engine site to be launched due to a number of visits by the Nsyght search spider to my web server. I've added an account 11 days ago to see all the possibilities of this new social media mashup of a search engine and socials bookmarking sites. They have set there selfs a lofty goal to let the users create there own custom search engine using there social network. The way this custom search engine works is that the site will create a detailed knowledge about what you think is relevant based on the bookmarks you submit and friends you make on the site. To allow quickly add bookmarks del.icio.us and ma.gnolia integration is currently build in, so starting a bookmark collection is a breeze.

The current alpha site that is running is only a fraction of the things the groups is working on. It gives a good taste of things to come. But if you want a smooth running feature packed new social site I suggest to wait for the beta release.

Blogrush

BlogRushI’ve just signed up for the new service of BlogRush I’m just curious where this service is going I’m very curious if this will give me some additional traffic. Apparently one of the arts of getting lots of traffic too your site is to promote your referral link to the maximum. I already found out that most of the reviews have listed there referral every 5 sentences. I promise I’ll post mine only once, so here you go if you also want to install BlogRush on your Blog and want to use me a referral use click here: BlogRush (referral) if you want to install without referral click here: BlogRush

If you like some additional information about BlogRush click on one of the links and view the video it explains it much better then I can.

Update : 25/09/2007 11:51 Current Credit Balance: -12 and Clicks are 0. Apparently none of the readers ever used the widget. So Blogrush is out.

Gazhoo the content marketplace

Gazhoo Logo Next to new startups like Scribd and Docstoc there is a new site in this segment Gazhoo. And in my opinion it is the best by far. I must admit that it isn’t an even battle between the sites. This because Docstoc is currently only open to invited users and although Scribd has a large number of documents online, many documents focus on ‘Cracking CD Protection’, ‘13 Funny Bumper Stickers’, ‘911 Pictures’ just to name a few.

No, if you want a really good site to upload and download quality documents from you should go to Gazhoo. There you can download Legal Forms, Business Forms, Market Research, Reports and Essays. The catch to this is that, although a number of document can be downloaded for free, also payment might be required to get the document you require. But on the other hand this is also a good thing. The uploader of the document puts in an effort to produce a good document he can get some money from and this will ultimately increase the quality of the documents. All the money transactions are done fast, secure and reliable via PayPal.

My advice if you need a specific document and you guess it might have been already created by somebody else, have a look at Gazhoo perhaps you can download it for free or get you hands on it at a bargain price.

IMified Review

IMified LogoI’ve signed up on IMified about a week ago and I’m very pleased with the great service IMified delivers. Which basically is a service that allows users to add notes, to-do’s and calendar items as well as blog and add entries to various applications (del.icio.us, twitter, jaiku, stikkit, 30 Boxes, BackPack, BaseCamp, …) via the major IM services AIM, MSN and Gtalk (Yahoo is currently offline). I myself use it to be able to blog to this site via the Wordpress widget which also works for Typo, add twitter entries from MSN, add URL’s to del.icio.us and write notes and to-do’s.

Capture This is one of the best mashups I’ve seen lately. It’s a very useful and clever tool to get to all your data in a simple way. There is one thing I would really like to see added to this service, beside an ever growing number of widgets, that is the ability to have more IM account connecting to you IMified data. Because I use MSN and Gtalk.

Panoramio

I just added a couple of my pictures to Paroramio. It’s a great way to store pictures of locations aspecialy now that it is intergrated into Google Earth. One little drawback is that it apperantly will take a couple of weeks before newly added photo’s are incorporated into the Google Earth Geographic Web layer. Others that are incorporated here are Wikipedia, and Best of Google Earth Community. This way Google make Earth much more a learning system and information can be gother straight from geographical locations.
