My little place on the internet...
This is my blog with personal and technical articles. My Blog for me is primarily a playground to do somethings with the server I have running via my DSL connection. And in my humble opinion it looks better every time I tinker with it.

Zotero
Great Firefox 2.x add-on that turns your browser in a research management tool. It makes it possible to collect and organize your research in one place.
Zotero can do the following things for you:
- Collect bookmarks for a certain topic, and tag it.
- Find a book on sites like amazon.com and add it to your library
- Find Journal item create a snapshot and highlight certain passages.
- Receive e-mail and also attach that in your library.
- and much more..
I’m still not completely convinced but to me it looks like this extension is going to super seed my article from May 24th this year about the ScrapBook extension and all my researching is going to be doen with this extension.
Release candidate 3 is available for download from there site at zotero.org

ScrapBook Firefox extension
For some reason I have seem to have missed out on this great extension but today after finding the Scrapbook extension while stumbling across the net I’ve ditched my Google notebook and furl account for it.
This ScrapBook extension for Firefox is in my opinion a must have for everyone that uses the Internet for research in some way or an other. In the past all article clippings that I wanted to keep I put Furl and after the introduction of Google notebook I put it there.
ScrapBook saves pages or bits of it with notes if you want locally on your computer along the the original URL. Organizing can be done in folders, highlighting text with a virtual marker and adding notes.
If you also like to install this check out the site at http://amb.vis.ne.jp/mozilla/scrapbook/

Iceweasel
I recently came across the Iceweasel browser. This is a a free software derivation of the Mozilla Firefox web browser. This spin off will in the future probably replace Firefox on al the GNU/Linux platforms due to the “free software” philosophy. Currently Debian is switched over to Iceweasel and Ubuntu seems to be the next inline.
Iceweasel also comes with extra privacy protection features :
- Blocking of cookies from sites that user zero-byte images for tracking.
- Detecting of hostname rewriting in links redirecting users to other sites, when this happens an alert messages gets displayed.
The first GNU/Linux x86 32 bit binary release is available, The source codes are also available for download. Check them out at the GNU mirror or ftp.gnu.org. Check here for more info.
