My little place on the internet...
This is my blog with personal and technical articles. My Blog for me is primarily a playground to do somethings with the server I have running via my DSL connection. And in my humble opinion it looks better every time I tinker with it.
no-www
I just came across the site no-www.org and although I don’t agree on there mission statement ‘www. is deprecated’. I thought I’ll change my default URI or URL in various locations to make it so that the primary URI is now http://icebear.net I have still a redirect in place so all my content is still available via the old www.
One point I agree with the guys on no-www.org is that if you contact a site using a web browser or you are using a valid URI with the URI scheme in this case http:// there is no use for the www. It’s kinda obvious that you are trying to connect to the world wide web server.

Good point…it is obvious and a bit weird that one of my sites has PR when you type in the www. but when you don’t it doesn’t have the PR…not sure if it’s importance is being phased out as the www is obviously going to world wide web server like you stated
good Post. i do agree to you. one thing i wished to say here even the site with http://www.icebear.net and http://icebear.net/ are supposed to have same content site but searchengine’s crawlers point of view it is considered as different website.
