My little place on the internet...
This is my blog with personal and technical articles. My Blog for me is primarily a playground to do somethings with the server I have running via my DSL connection. And in my humble opinion it looks better every time I tinker with it.
Mephisto
Like you already could read in the about box. This site of mine is for a big part a play server for me. Thats why I switched today from blog software. I’m still on rails but no with Mephisto. I’m very pleased with all the functionality that Mephisto has to offer on top of what I was used to with Typo. Specialy the liquid templates to create fairly easy an own template for you blog. Unfortunatly there is still one big drawback with Mephisto and that is XML-RPC support. I’m still unable to get it working. In my opinion this should go high on the list of things to do for Mephisto just followed by the Atom post API.
UPDATE: I’ve just updated a plugin and if this text arrives at the site XML-RPC support is working.

New mobile
have had a mobile from my employer for 4 years now (perhaps a bit longer). Of course this is a very simple business model, and I was a little bit fed up with it. I wanted something shine and new. So I’ve been looking around for a month now to see what phone would fit me the best. I have had plans to buy the Nokia N94 but it’s a bit to expensive and for some reason Nokia did not build a pop-portâ„¢ in it. So using it with my carkit is not possible.
But yesterday I made my decision and have bought myself the Nokia N80. It’s a smartphone with the works. Like Bluetooth, 3 MegaPixel camera, symbian OS and even Wireless LAN connection. So I’m very pleased with the phone so far. Hope it’ll live up to it’s expectations.

Trip to Paris
I’ve been on a business trip to Paris from Wednesday until Friday. It was the first time there for me there and although I was really impressed with all the monuments and architectural heritage, the thing I like best about Paris was the metro. Traveling with them is never boring every few minutes you stop at a station and people leave and others get in. Never a dull moment.

Microsoft Surface
While stumbling I came across the site from Microsoft about Microsoft Surface. I had immediately a feeling of ‘I got to have one’.
Microsoft Surface is a computer system with as primary interface a 30 inch table top with multifinger touch input. It also can interact with objects placed on the table top. If you would for example place a a camera on the table the photo’s literally drop out of the camera on to the table top. if you place a cell phone on the table you can throw these pictures to the phone and they will then be stored there.
In my opinion this is some really good news from and for Microsoft. because I myself haven’t seen anything exciting and new from Redmond in ages.
The undoubted low point indicating this must be the release from Internet Explorer 7 and the new features like tabbed browsing that Firefox and Opera already integrated a long time before. So Microsoft was in need of some new and innovative technologie to help them forward.
But back to Microsoft Surface, this new technologie is going to be release at the end of this year and will be sold at first to companies to brighten up there place. As far as I could find there is no release info for home use yet.
Take a look at the site Microsoft dedicated to this at for some very nice movies about that this machine does
